The cruise

Spice Routes takes you back to an era when large barges or kettuvallams laden with rice, spices and coir plied through the canals of Alleppey. These barges also carried provisions, through the rivers, lakes and streams to the houses on the riverbanks. Today these barges have been converted into luxury houseboats that afford the traveller an authentic experience of life on the backwaters.

Our houseboats have been adapted to accommodate all modern conveniences, sun decks, living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, uninterrupted water supply and a well-stocked kitchen and skilled crew who ensure you have a luxurious experience. Every houseboat has a three member crew consisting of a driver, assistant and a cook.
