Description:
This is the place where the Lord Buddha was born to queen Mayadevi of Kapilavastu. It is said that the queen had dreamt of white elephant a night prior to the birth of the Lord, which indicated good omen and Godly incarnation.
Emperor Ashoka, built the famous Asoka pillar to commemorate this site.
