Ratanpur, the ancient capital of the Chhattisgarh state is situated around 25 kms away from Bilaspur. One of the most important towns in the Chhattisgarh region, Ratanpur, was founded by Kaluchuri king Ratandeo and hence it was named as Ratanpur.
