Description:
Siddhatek is a remote little village along the river Bhima near Ahmednagar. It is famous for the Ashta Vinayak Ganesh temple. This ancient temple is located on the top of a hill and was built by Ahilyabai Holkar of Indore. The Siddhivinayak at Siddhatek is considered an especially powerful deity. There is a popular belief that Vishnu acquired Siddhi on the Siddhatek Mountain. The new temple was built during the reign of Peshwa. The idol is three feet high and has Riddhi-Siddhi sitting on its lap.
