Introduction

“Falling on the full moon day in the month of March, Holi is celebrated with fervour all over India. This tour allows you to witness this special festival at Shantiniketan, the university started by Guru Rabindranath Tagore. Here the students celebrate this festival as "Basanta Utsav". During the festival, Spring is greeted not only with colors, but also with songs, music and interesting rhymes.”

Arrive at Kolkata.Upon arrival you will be greeted by our representative.Later transfer to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2

Kolkata

Post breakfast full day sightseeing of the city. Visit the Victoria Memorial Visit the The Indian National Museum. Post lunch drive pass Howrah Bridge. Visit the Belur Math. Evening visit Maidan. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3

Kolkata - Shantiniketan

Post breakfast,transfer to Shantiniketan by road.Upon arrival check in to the hotel and have lunch. Post Lunch visit the Rabindra Museum and take a round of the university. Later in the afternoon visit the Saontal village nearby and watch Saontali dance. Evening take the pleasure of listening to the Baul folk songs. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 4

Shantiniketan

Today the function of Basant Utsav will be held. Post breakfast participate in the function. Breakfast with Tea. Start of student's procession dance from Amrakunjo to Basanta Utsaav stage. Festival of Aabir Khela in the areas of the Stage Ground, Ashrama Math, Kalabhavan, Sangitbhavan. Lunch Break. Visit Baul Song fair – Baul songs & dance at Sonarjhuri Khoai. Evening watch one of the many famous dance dramas written by the great poet Guru Rabindranath Tagore. The performances are followed by a GRAND DINNER. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5

Shantiniketan - Kolkata - Bagdogra -
Darjeeling

Today post breakfast, drive back to Kolkata. Upon arrival have lunch at local restaurant and then directly drive to the airport to take flight to Bagdogra. Upon arrival drive to Darjeeling. Check in at hotel, dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Before breakfast transfer for sightseeing Visit the Tiger Hills for sunrise and the Ghoom Monstery. Back to hotel for breakfast. Post breakfast take the Toy Train till Ghoom and back. Evening visit the Mall Road. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 7

Darjeeling - Gangtok

Post breakfast transfer Gangtok by road. On the way visit the Rumtek Monastery. Upon arrival check in at hotel, have lunch and rest. Later visit the Enchey Monastery and the Cottage Industry Museum. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Post breakfast transfer for sightseeing. Morning excursion to Tsomgo Lake and back(if the road is opened) . Afternoon visit Do Drul Chorten (Stupa) and Namgyal Institute of Tibetology. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 9

Gangtok - Bagdogra - Kolkata Departure

Post breakfast in the morning transfer to Bagdogra. Lunch at Siliguri. Post Lunch transfer to the airport to take flight to Kolkata. Upon arrival at Kolkata, take a roundabout of the Science City of Kolkata. Dinner at local restaurant. Post dinner transfer to international airport to take flight back home.
