Temple Tour of Tamil Nadu - PI-0107
Tamil Nadu is one of the southern states in India. Tamil Nadu is famous for its innumerous temples and beaches, along with its delicious cuisine. This tour starts from the capital city of the state, Chennai, to take you around the places of main pilgrimage centres of the south.Unfortunately many temples here do not allow non-hindus to enter the sanctorium. But to watch the architecture of the temples from outside itself is a breath taking experience. Come and enjoy this five day tour and get entjralled with the mytholocgial stories related to the temples and the beautiful architecture along with an insight to the dravidian culture.
Day 1: Chennai

On arrival at Chennai airport our representative will welcome and transfer to a hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 2: Chennai - Mamallapuram
Wednesday, November 27, 2024 - Thursday, November 28, 2024
Morning after breakfast visit many interesting places like
Fort St. George, San Thome Cathedral and a few museums that house an impressive selection of Chola bronzes and stone sculptures from South India and the Deccan.Around afternoon, drive to Mahabalipuram (Mammalapuram).This ancient city was built in the 7th century and is a World Heritage Site today. It boasts of some very interesting art forms cut out of rocks that draw sculptors from all across the world. Check-in to the hotel for an overnight stay in Mahabalipuram.
After breakfast sightseeing tour that would cover the
Shore Temple, Arjuna's Penance & Five Rathas. Thereafter, enjoy a drive to Kanchipuram, the city of temples. Return to Mahabalipuram at the day for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Mamallapuram - Puducherry - Thanjavur

Morning after breakfast drive to Pondicherry, a small sea beach town famous for its French culture and for its Ashram of Saint Aurobindo. Visit the Ashram and the township having distinct French impression. Later transfer to Thanjavur. On arrival, embark on a visit to the famous Brihadewswara Temple, also known as the "Bull Temple" Built by the Chola kings, this majestic temple is 216 feet high. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 5: Thanjavur - Tiruchirappalli - Madurai

Rock Fort Temple and
Srirangam Temple- a 17th century temple dedicated to Vishnu.
Srirangam, surrounded by the water of river Kaveri on one side and its tributary Kollidan on the other, is a 600 acre island-town enclosed within the seven walls of the gigantic Sri Ranganathaswami Temple. There are 21 gopurams, among which the Rajagopuram is the largest in South India. Arrive Madurai and check into your hotel. Overnight in Madurai
Day 6: Madurai
Sunday, December 1, 2024 - Monday, December 2, 2024
Madurai was the capital city for the great Pandya kings, and today it is Tamil Nadu's most happening culture arena. In the morning visit the Meenakshi Temple, the Teppakkulam Tank and the ancient Tirumala Nayak Palace. The structures of the Meenakshi Temple that are standing today date mostly from the twelfth to the eighteenth century. Its enormous gopurams, covered with gaily-coloured statues, dominate the landscape and are visible from all over Madurai. At every turn there is superb sculpture, magnificent architecture. The Tirumala Nayak Palace is a gracious building in the Indo Saracenic style, famous for the stucco work on its domes and arches. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Madurai.
Day 7: Madurai - Chennai

Morning post breakfast trabsfer to the aiport to take fligt to Chennai. Upon arrival at chennai, enjoy the beach and later transfer to the international airport to take flight back home.
