Castle Bijaipur.Bijaipur - Amid the serene Vindhyanchal ranges,
Castle Bijaipur stands as a tradition in hospitality, pageantry and Rajput charm. Built in the 16th Century by Rao Shakti Singh Ji, the younger brother of the great patriot Maharana Pratap to defend the Mewar Empire from invasions from central India, the chevaliers of this strategic fort have fought many fierce battles of historical importance against the Mughals and the Marathas. The thirteenth descendant of this fort has opened it's doors to tourists. A wildlife Sanctuary is situated adjacent to the Castle, harbouring rare fauna including the Leopards, Chinkaras, Spotted Deer, Four Horned Deer, Crocodile, Wild Boar and a variety of birds.The 12th century Pangarh Fort overlooking the Lotus Lake spread out in 200 acres, is an amazing site to watch. It is 15 Km by jeep from the Castle. While Boating, if you are lucky you can see the tribals harpooning fish as done in ancient times. Overnight stay at hotel.
